A question about : Glue for card and paper crafting

I do a lot of card and paper craft and I'm struggling with the best (and most cost effective) glue.

PVA type is too wet and makes the paper wrinkly. Finding that the rollers that discharge temporary glue dots are ok, but a few weeks later the glue has failed

I notice that on tv craft programmes they tend to use double sided sticky tape - to excess imo.

  • This is possibly not the most cost effective ! but I really love the Zig 2 way glue pens and use them for card making.
I use the chisel tip variety. Great for gluing paper to card and I've even written with the pen and then used glitter for sparkly greetings. You get a thin layer of glue just where you want it. Only once have I found it to have failed- when the pen had really run out!
I have tried other glue pans- but not found better. The glue is blue so you can see where you have put it, then dries clear. You can also let the glue dry on one surface and the item is then repositionable (not an attribute that I ever use.)

I do also use double sided tape sometimes and also Pritt stick (or cheaper equivalent) for matting or reinforcing layers of this card
  • Many thanks Katiehound
I have ordered one to try out.

  • Pritt stick is useless and things drop off, it is useful for putting on double sided tape or sticky pads to give a little 'slide time'. Personally I use Collal all purpose which I find doesn't wrinkle paper or card and sticks!!
