A question about : Find Trusted Charities
I am wondering how I go about finding a trusted charity. I hear all these horror stories about the such-and-such.org charity only gives 5% of your donation to the supposed beneficiaries of the charity.
So basically, what charity is gonna be the most fiscally responsible when handling my charitable contribution?
Best answers:
- Are you looking for charities based in the US? This is a UK-based site.
- A charity I support is called Whisper and funds education, medical intervention and improves living conditions for children in Uganda.
It is a registered charity here and in Uganda.
It uses 100% of money raised / donated on their projects because all admin and running costs are funded by a private donator.
Their web site is www.whisperorphans.org - in the UK you can check out the charity commission website to see the charity accounts https://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk...rhomepage.aspx
- There's a website called Alive and Giving, that lists charities and show their charitable spend (although not for all of them).
aliveandgiving.com
From there I shortlist and then look at each charity's annual report.
