A question about : EA, Fifa 15 and a ban

What are the legal rights of people who own Fifa 15, play Ultimate Team legitimately and are just good at trading players etc. Make several millions coins and then because of this, with no evidence presented get their account banned by EA with a claim of Coin Selling.

Someone at work was talking about this who plays it a lot. We're all aware of the coin selling that goes on an that ruins Ultimate Team. The question is, how do go about getting an account back that has been falsely banned due to false claims of coin selling.

No amount of contact with EA is helping. Appears to be the only option is their support. All they've replied is the account was close for coin selling. No evidence has been presented and as far as they are concerned that's the end of the matter. Surely that can't be right. What's the point in playing the game if at any point, once you've made a few million, EA ban the account with no clear evidence.

Best answers:

  • Unfortunately you are dealing with EA and their incompetence is astounding.
I wouldn't get your hopes up about resolving the situation, in-fact you will be lucky to ever even get a human reply from their awful customer service.
Really All you can do is keep complaining to them through every avenue you can find.
  • It's amazing how many times EA keep screwing over their customers and people still buy their stuff.
  • Managed to tweet the issue to Peter Moore who passed it to support who then wanted the account name which gave them and then said "You need to visit this site -insert their generic this is what you do if you've been banned site- and that they couldn't help, only those people could. I said "Don't you all work for the same company?"
It's been quiet since. I've even asked Peter Moore that doesn't he find it ironic that innocent players are being banned but all the big Lets Play YouTubers who are advertising Coin Sellers aren't. He hasn't replied to that
It's clear they don't really care because those YouTubers are making them a mint with the free advertising. So they'll let them promote the coin sellers all they want despite it being against the EULA.
It's clear, they still don't mind being The Worst Company of The Year again then.
What's worst is when they ban the Fifa account it's actually the whole of Origin that gets banned so you're then locked out of all the other games. Surely that's not legal.
  • Do they have a physical address in UK?
If so consider a small claims case against them for breach of contract.
  • At the risk of sounding like a jerk, you helped EA become the cash grabbing swines that they are by playing FUT & allowing it to thrive - alongside the millions of other people throwing money away on it.
Doesn't mean I don't agree that EA are a bit shoddy customer service wise, but ultimately you play by their rules & they've seen fit to ban you, you signed up accepting their T&C's which include the ability to ban you.
  • Personally I like footie games but have not yet moved onto the ps4/Xbox One as I have little time to play. I play Fifa but avoid such game modes, as I would avoid any game mode which involves paying real money for in-game rewards. Just hate it.
  • Banned my account for supposedly doing similar, again I know I haven't, and they can't provide evidence.
I've opted to go down the Subject Access Request route with them. Emailed privacy-uk@ea.com requesting all the details of their investigation, and they have 40 days to respond. So far, not even an acknowledgement.
  • it the same as Battlefield multi players.. i got banned because the account got hacked and then that person played with cheats... by the time i manage to get account back i was block... after months talking to EA they said the person who took you account use cheats in game.. did wonder why my score per min was stupid.. again lost all my games and banned account.. thou didnt buy another game from them till battlefield 4 came out open a new account but will never buy anything else. they just want ur money ban you hoping you buy the game again. This is PC by the way
  • I volunteer at a well known EA site and am a senior moderator... Answers HQ. Trust me when I say that we have an astounding amount of these issues come up every day, and there's nothing we ourselves can do about this. Please bear in mind btw that I am not an EA employee, just a volunteer at a player-to-player official support forum from EA.
You need to send an email to accountdisputes@ea.com from the email account which you use for your EA/Origin account on the game... they will review and WILL unban you if they do not have solid evidence of coin selling or buying.
  • I know you send people to that email address, but they rarely respond.
In honesty, EA rarely do anything. I'm thinking the 130 page thread about the issues with the PC version being CPU hungry, even on high spec machines like my own.
The funny thing is, on the PC version it is easy to tell the cheaters. People with 5billion match coins etc. Doesn't seem that EA ban them though.
  • Oddly enough my Fifa 15 account has just been removed as well (generic email about breach of terms and conditions).
Haven't even played the game in 4/5 months, and can't see any evidence that account has been accessed or tampered with.
Sent an email but not expecting much in the way of reply.
