  • Has no one heard of it ??
  • Just googled it. £99.95 membership fee and £4.95 a month? Cripes
  • I don't see how they can legally advertise it as 0% APR when it has fees attached, looks like a scam to me. They don't actually indicate anywhere what you can buy with it either.
  • yeah looks like you can only spend their credit on their associated website "e credit shopping club"too, have to pay 15% of your outstanding balance monthly and the prices are probably well above the market too - you can't see the prices until you become a member (and pay the Ј100 fee!!!)
  • It,s not actually a credit card either it says it,s not a visa or mastercard but a Shopping card.they're based in Oxford.

  • could it be worth the Ј100 though, if youre seriously trying to re build !!!!! credit?
  • gosh I do some many competitions I never know if any emails I get are genuine or not now.
  • hey yes i got an email inviting me aswell. aswell as the high introductory fee and monthly payment you can only use it on their website. the website only contains electricall items such as ipods, playstations, x-boxs and ps3 -not much of a game selection. fridge freezers and washingmachines ect. not alot of choice for the set up fee of about Ј100 not worth it at all guys.
  • i saw the ad in the facebook. I really hope watch dog will have a look at it a problem and investigate.
  • Its a complete ripoff designed to lure people who cant afford the credit in the first place i must get one of these emails every week now and i just delete it. i would advise anyone else who receives one to do the same. :-) x
  • Accidently opened the link on Facebook. Yes, I'd say the ad is highly misleading. Really not worth it, judging by the posts in this thread.
  • Hi i just paid Ј79.95 for this shopping card from e platinum plus.by mistake,i thought was a platinum credit card, when giving your info, they ask for you credit or debit card info then take Ј79.95 from the card without saying anything about taking the money,,being bank holiday am gonna ring them tuesday and ask for my money back lol fingers crossed,
  • the same thing exactly has happend to me, i thought i was applying for a credit card. when i went to my local supermarket to get shopping, there was no money in my account and my debit card got declined, they had not even bothered to e-mail me or contact me to say they was taking the money. not happy,
  • The first part of their terms say it all:

  • Well thank goodness i checked this out before i registered! I have a bad credit rating and I thought that this would be a good way of starting to repair this but as I have heard so many times before if it sounds too good to be true it usually is! So I googled e credit platinum and then decided to click on the link for this site and read the posts on here. THANKYOU soooo much!
  • Hi - has anybody had any luck getting their membership fee back from these characters - I mistakenly signed up for this too thinking it was a Platinum Credit Card. Spent 20 minutes in a phone queue today trying to speak to someone to cancel the application but had to give up in the end.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Always read the terms and conditions before applying for such products.
  • Under the "Financial Services (Distance Marketing) Regulations 2004, you have 14 days in which to cancel your agreement with E-Credit. Write to them at 2, Minton Place, Victoria Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire, OX26 6QB. It does state in there "Membership Terms", found at the bottom of there E Catalogue home page, that if you cancel after 14 days but before 30 days thaey will give you your membership money back as long as all goods are returned unused.
I hope this helps anyone else who gets caught out as I did.
    Regards Ian.
PS. only just written so fingers crossed!
