DRP Debt Recovery Plus HELP

Hello. Really hope that I don't get a telling off but I have read through the sticky post 'Read This First' RE private parking tickets and I am in bit of a unique position and unsure as to what to do next.

I purchased and displayed a valid ticket for my car whilst parking at the Peel Centre in Stockport (Excel Parking Services look after that site).

A good few weeks went by and I received a letter from Excel which I ignored as I knew I had purchased a ticket.

I am now at the stage where Debt Recovery Plus have got involved and they are after Ј128. I sent them a scan of my valid proof of parking and it turns out that the ticket ran out approx. 40 minutes BEFORE I left the car park.

The lady who called me from DRP said that the T&C's in the car park state that I must always have a ticket... I am worried now that I have to pay the charge as apparently there is no appeal process at this stage. I don't want to ignore it as the cost will go up and up apparently.

Any advice would be great! Thank you all.

• its either PAY or ignore, nothing else you can do, although DRP cannot do anything either, other than refer it back to EXCEL
  I would ignore until either an LBC or MCOL dropped through the door from EXCEL themslves
  you will have to make up your own mind, but if I were you I would read the debt collector post #4 several times in that newbies sticky thread
  there is no magic wand solution
  DRP are powerless, so DRP = Dont Respond - Period
• Please re-read posts one and four of the Newbies Sticky. There is nothing unique about your situation at all.
  Then maybe have a look at the "READ THIS BEFORE YOU START A NEW THREAD ABOUT ROSSENDALES or DEBT RECOVERY PLUS!" thread for good measure.
• Hi thanks for the replies; 'Step 4' in the sticky thread doesn't actually give me any advice? I am really confused and a bit worried about all of this; I don't want DRP chasing me for money!
• DRP will chase you regardless , its what they do for a living and nothing you can do can alter that fact short of taking out some form of injunction or successfully winning a court case for harassment
  the advice is clear
  IGNORE
  its 6 characters and so is clear and concise as a reply and is the advice we always give on here, never changes , always stays the same so there is little point complaining about it, or the dozens of others threads where it has been spelled out to the nth degree
  you managed to ignore excel, you have ignored our advice, so clearly all you need to do now is ignore DRP too
  so IGNORE DRP - THAT IS THE ADVICE

  You know, all of this shouldn't be allowed! There should be a strict law against it all. I feel sorry for the people who have been conned into paying Excel or DRP however!

  the more who answer the debt collector queries , the better (but most people disappear once they have drunk at the fountain of knowledge)
