A question about : DRO just finished can i now increase my income?

hi all, a newbie so be gentle!.. my DRO has finally come to an end, its been a long year, but well worth it, no more debt worries, anyhow my question is i have been working just 2 days a week most of the past year to keep me under the Ј50 limit and its been a struggle, when i first took out my DRO i was unemployed having been made redundant, but i hated signing on so got a P/T job to keep my income the same as my JSA was.. Can i now straight away seek full time work? i read somewhere about waiting another 3 months, i just want to get back to full time work and have a bit of extra money at the end of the month.. any help thanks

  • As far as I know once the 12 months DRO is completed you are free to earn whatever you like.
The DRO remains showing on the online insolvency register for another 3 months, but that has no effect on anything you can do.
  • thanks for the swift response fermi, yeah thats where i read about the 3 months thing, i just wanted to make sure, just for peace of mind, having now got rid of my debts and strees/worry its a strange feeling knowning i dont owe anybody anything for the first time in years...
  • Hi nuanger
Just to elaborate on Fermi's response, as well as being free to earn any amount once the DRO is over, it also doesn't matter if you win/inherit/acquire anything of value after the moratorium period, even one day later.
Glad to hear you are now able to look forward to a debt-free future.
