A question about : Donate Ј1 to adopted dogs

/ What's this about?

Pedigree's launched the Adoption Drive campaign to raise awareness for abandoned & stray dogs in the UK. As part of the campaign, it's commited to donate Ј1 to the PetPlan Charitable Trust for every view of stray dog Charlie's video on youtube.

/ How to donate for free...

To have Ј1 donated to the trust, simply go to the special youtube page and play the video. Ј1 will automatically be donated on your behalf, and Pedigree will donate up to Ј100,000. So far the video has had just over 50,000 views so it's half-way there.

/ Why's Pedigree doing this?

There are 1,000s of abandoned & stray dogs in the UK and charities like the PetPlan Charitable Trust need donations to take them in and care for them. Pedigree's decided to help encourage donations by viewer interaction.

/ When does it end?

Once the video has been viewed 100,000 times, Pedigree will have reached its target of Ј100,000 worth of donations. So 50,000 more to go!

Thanks to MoneySaver Hamid for the top spot

  • Hey guys - just a quick update - I've found out that if you want to donate as well you can do it directly through JustGiving - https://www.justgiving.com/everydogmatters. If you quote 'Daily Mail', Pedigree will match the donation -!https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...g-Britain.html
Thanks for the updated info Deborah and good on you Lisa!
  • Put it on my facebook page to encourage my friends to help the cause too
  • Thanks Hamid for posting this. It's only had 17,000 views in two weeks! Not much for a nation of dog lovers as we supposedly are.
  • 'Liked' on Facebook and suggest to all my friends. Following on Twitter.
Come on Guys. Just a few clicks counts.
  • On my Facebook and Twitter now - and viewed the video too!
  • Brilliant Hamid, thanks. I've checked the organisation's ethical policy too and, although they do fund medical research, they're totally clear that they'll never fund animal testing - which is more than some supposedly animal caring organisations can boast. So great stuff all round
  • Just be aware that, AKAIK, liking a facebook page allows access to your personal info and this is a commercial venture (for Pedigree and Petplan insurance company) behind the well meaning front after all.

  • I couldn't watch all of them as I started to cry, but I think that just shows you that I care about animals.
Just a few weeks a go I signed up to donate Ј2.50 a month to the cats protection which is Ј30 a year, I was thinking i'm not going to miss Ј2.50 a month.
I don't know if any one else is interested but here is a link to the site https://www.cats.org.uk/
    Thanks.

  • I'm an ex-pat living in the US and avidly read Martin's site every week - still have parents and monies in the UK. As much as I applaud, very loudly, Pedigree's giving to abandoned dogs, I have written to them on many occasions and never received a response, asking why they produce such diabolical food for dogs. Have you read the ingredient list on their bags of dog food. Ingredients are listed, as with human foods, in order of quantity contained within the food. As an example, take a look at their Lamb and Rice - the 1st ingredient is corn even though their website boasts that they don't use fillers. The 2nd ingredient is a by-product - this is produced from rendered 'parts' (look up what parts can be rendered if you really want to be disgusted). One of the next ingredients is an animal fat preservative - BHT/BHA - cancer causing preservatives. This goes on and on. Lamb is no. 8 on the list of ingredients!!!! Take a look at a website -.truthaboutpetfood by Susan Thixton. Add the www in the front and .com at the end as this site won't let me include a link. It's a real eye opener. Mars Petcare should be ashamed of themselves.
  • Do you have to watch all 4 for the money to be donated I didn't think it was that clear.
