I was hoping someone might be able to help me with a probate/intestacy matter. I have simplified the circumstances as best I can below.

A question about : Solicitor refusing to communicate with executor

I have a question which I’m hoping someone will know the answer too.

I am the executor to my mum’s will. Probate has been issued. My sister who I’ve always got on well with suddenly went to see a solicitor for advice. Since then she has asked her solicitor to not communicate with me. Every time I write to him regarding the estate he says his instructions are he is not to communicate with me direct on this matter, but only through a solicitor.

A question about : MIL funeral, but FIL won't allow my children to attend

I am at loss of what to do, as I feel torn. My much loved MIL passed away last week after years of suffering. They live 4 hrs away. I have children. Due to the circumstances of her illness, they have not seen her for 4 years, but we have tried to maintain telephone contact with FIL, it has been difficult and he has not wanted to speak with the children. DH has visited alone for the past 4 years.

Hi everyone

A month ago my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer and it turns out he only has a month (roughly) left. It has spread to his brain and so he is no longer able to help us out.

My dad was the only income earner and is now retired, my mum is 60 and has no clue about finance or anything so I'm going to have to sort out everything for her.

I've just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and want to get everything in order for when the inevitable happens.

I'm 39, married with 2 kids (7 and 9).

My wife doesn't work, all of the household bills are in my name and are paid from my bank account.

I have a cash ISA and several shares ISAs in my name, can I transfer them to my wife?

I know I need to sort out a will, but are we better off transferring as many things as possible into my wife's name now or waiting?

A question about : Estate Accounts Question

Hi All,

I have a question about a set of estate accounts supplied by a solicitor for my Aunt's estate. I must point out that my aunt died four years ago and my Uncle was her sole residual beneficiary. He wasn't given a copy of the estate accounts when the solicitor completed the probate back then as he didn't release that they had to supply such a document and it was only in May this year when he and I had a conversation about my Aunt's estate that he became aware that he should have had a copy.

Need urgent help!

My Mum found out that her Dad died a MONTH ago and her sister did not tell her...and the funeral has been and gone.
I suspect this has to do with his will - which, on last sight was left to 6 grandchildren. However, my aunty always said she was going to get this changed!

Where do I go from here to make it known to the Grandad's solicitor that he had another daughter and how to go about getting a copy of the will?
