A question about : Dad past on, trusts and taxes?

My friends Dad recently died, the old chap had lived in a house which was in a trust that had been set up some twenty years ago by his dead partner, allowing him to continue to live in the property until he died. My friend has been lead to believe that although his dad did not own the property it is still seen to be part of his estate and therefore he is now responsible for taxes ext. regarding the property, this can't be right?

I'm not too sure whether someone may be able to help to put my mind at ease.

Basically, there has been an argument in the family and my brother and his partner have cut themselves off from the rest of the family (there was a small disagreement that blew out of all proportions and they've not apologised for their part at all).

We've received several requests for a specialist sub-board to deal with that unfortunate time when a family member passes away and there are a myriad of decisions to make regarding everything from Funeral arrangement, to dealing with the legal issues.

A relative has just died and his wife doesn't drive and the car is on finance with santander
Obvioulsy the car can't be sold as is on finance and is parked on a public road with no way of moving it.
Any ideas on what to do? With the car and the loan.
This was on the loans board just transfered it here to see if any one knew what to do.
The loan is for 13000 and the car is worth 8000 as the apr was 18%
