A question about : confusion over tax codes

NB. I think I have posted to the wrong board (again - its a personality flaw - sorry! )
Hi - I am thoroughly confused about my tax code. this is going to be v. boring for everyone to read but its really important to me!!
I have two jobs
A full time job which worked out at about 19,000 a year
and a part time job which works out at around Ј150-Ј200 a month.

A question about : Tax rebate?

Made redundant last september and had a redundancy package - now claiming jsa - can I get / am I entitled to any tax rebate?

A question about : how best to pay tax due in past years

Hi

Can anyone give advice on how best to pay tax due from previous years?

If someone has never filled in a tax return, but say has held several buy to let properties for the previous 5 years, how is it best to approach the tax office?

The net amount owned (rental income minus expenditure etc.) won't be a great amount, but appreciate this won't make a difference in the eye of the taxman.

Will be seeking out an accountant shortly, but any views appreciated.

A question about : Company Car & Tax

I'm lucky enough to have a job with a company car and a fuel card, I've heard this isn't very tax efficient and it's better to:
1) Pay for fuel and expense costs (my private miles are small) or
2) Opt out of company car scheme and purchase own car.

Opinions please!!

A question about : Tax time fun?

Last year I filled in my tax return for my business and the books balanced with 0 profit - because my business is solely on my head, I had to include it with my wages. I seem to remember getting a piece of paper saying that I didn't need to file again this year unless my circumstances changed...

This year my combined wages and business earnings are well below tax bracket as I took 6 months off and haven't been in the country.

A question about : What expenses can I claim for when completing my tax return???

I am just sorting out my tax return for the past year. Im not sure exactly what expenses I can claim for?? I work from home for most of the week so any advice would be greatly appreciated??

A question about : How long does it take to get a tax rebate?

I started a new job in January, and from the start of my employment through to the end of the tax year I was put on an emergency tax code (the Inland Revenue's explanation for this is that they didn't have 'enough information', my explanation for this, having P45s covering my every move since August 2005, is that they're lazy).

A question about : Calculating Net to Gross for wages.

When I get my wages I get the net pay but what I would like to do is to be able to backwards calculate what my gross was before deductions.

Is their a program (freebie) out there that can do this for me or does someone have some good maths to show me
