A question about : Csa
I'm new to this and my first post has disappeared. My former partner has been paying me Ј40 directly for our 2 sons we had together. He has stopped because the CSA are taking 20% of his income for another child he had because the mother got a court order. The CSA are ignoring me. This is unfair and I would like some help and advice on what to do. It's the worst time for the payments to stop.
Best answers:
- You will have to open a case with the CSA. He will then be assessed as having to pay for 3 children and then you will receive 2/3 of the assessment for the 2 children you have.
Also, the CSA wont be taking 20% for one child from the other mother involved. If the case has only just open then the % for one child is 12% of his gross income.
Dont delay in calling because it will not be backdated. - If you open a case with the CSA you can choose a direct pay case - this is where basically you get CSA to do your assessment, but they'll not be involved with the payment side of things.
If there's a court order in place then there's a chance this wasn't anything to do with the CSA.
