A question about : Credit Card PPI help please!!

I posted this on some other post and realized it may not get much responce. So thought I start my own thread on this to see if anyone can help me.

I know I'm such a dumb a##!!!title=Embarrassment , when it comes to these things, so just wanted to make sure I'm doing it correctly. So a few questions below.................... if anyone can answer them, much appreciated.

I have just cleared a Virgin credit card and have been paying PPI on it. When I took out the card I was told the PPI was not optional. Is this true? As it seems they have lied, but just wanted to make sure before I go ahead.

The template below..... Is it the correct one for claiming PPI on Credit Cards?

Quote:

I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the insurance charges added to my account with [insert name of lender]. If you are unable to provide this data, I will accept copies of my statements. I understand that statements on their own are not covered by the Data Protection Act, yet I'm not requesting the statements per se, but the charges, which I'm entitled to.
I look forward to your response within 40 days, as is obliged under the Data Protection Act 1998. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner.

Should I bring up this being told it was not an option in this letter somewhere, or should I just see what their reply is first?

  • July, I think you need to post this in the PPI claiming section which I think there is in CREDIT CARDS area of the forum. If they have said it was NOT optional then you have a claim.
  • I did find PPI in the loans section, didn't think as just went for the most obvious, being this part of the forum. Reclaiming bank/Credit card charges. But that is not quite the same after closer inspection. Silly me
    Many Thanks though
