A question about : Compello Group

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I have a debt relating to an old First Direct account, and I have been since about 2008 0r 2009 been chased by this pack of bloodhounds.
I have never responded, plus the debt isn't very much, but it was the result of constant bank charges always coming the day or 2 days before my wages went in, so it escalated over the period of about 7 months to Ј1500. I paid it down by about 2 thirds before losing my job and stopping payments.
The only form of contact I have had has been with the financial ombudsmen, and I was lodging a complaint against first direct and the unfair bank charges, and at the same time they told the compello group to halt until the outcome of the case. It turns out apparently snowballing someone into debt despite them asking the bank to stop on many occasions is fair, so I lost that case.
The thing that confuses me, is the debt is actually the wrong amount by about Ј2.37 or some small amount like that, I actually don't even know where they got the figure, and they claim it is from HSBC (I know HSBC own First Direct) but surely they need to state where the actual debt came from? basically I think I fall under Destute Barred now and I was wondering how I go about stopping them as I have been trying to rebuild my credit file over the last few years, and this is a real plug.

https://legalbeagles.info/beagle-wins-bank-charge-case/ - Well I did initially try and reclaim the charges, and they kept putting it on hold until the result of this case, then they just sold the debt to Compello. I doubt I would win though as the Financial Ombudsmen declared that they did no wrongdoing throughout the whole process.
