A question about : Clean slate finally, now where do i start?

Evening all,

After a long six year wait my final default fell off my account today title=EEK!

I am due to move into my own rented accommodation at the end of the month so i will be signing up to the electoral role then. What steps do i take after this?

Should my car insurance, mobile contract be shown on my credit file? This would definitely be in my favour due to never missing a payment on these.

Any tips would be greatly received. Looking to rebuild for two years ready for the all important mortgage application.

Thanks
Vars

Best answers:

  • Mobile should be reported.
    Car insurance is less likely.
You should be able to get a credit card. Just use it for food and fuel etc and pay it off in full each month. That will help.
  • Thanks, should i wait until i appear on the electoral role before applying?
Also, how would i go about getting my mobile contract to show up on my report?
  • Probably best to wait until ER shows up.
Who's the mobile with? My orange, vodafone, O2, Virgin all showed on there. Not at the same time mind!
Is the mobile at your current address?
Might also be worth waiting until you have moved into the new place and your bank etc show up at the new address on the credit file.
  • Mobile is at current address but i am not on the electoral role at this address do you think this is why?
    Im with Orange
  • Only credit expert experian
  • Try Noddle, it checks call credit for free.
Might be worth a look on Equifax, my Orange one is on there.
  • I'll look into it, thanks very much.
