My employer wants to change my death in service benefit from 4 x salary to 2 x salary saying that they cannot find a company that offers more than 2 x salary.

My contract does not state what multiple is offered only that a DIS is available.

Since I started over 3.5 years ago it has always been 4 x.

Can it be reduced?
