A question about : Car Insurance
Hi,
I bought a new car from a dealer. In order to tax the car, the salesman signed me up for a free week driveaway policy, as he would not accept a printed copy of insurance. I had already changed the car details on my own existing policy, so from the date of picking up the new one, my insurance covered my old car until I traded it in, and then it covered me on my new one.
Does this temporary driveaway policy mean I was insured twice temporarily? I have cancelled the driveaway policy anyway now, but I am worried that the MID will somehow automatically cancel my existing policy or something. The overlap would have all been within the same day.
I'm getting worried I have messed this up, it all seemed so simple but now I'm confused.
Best answers:
- The MIB can't cancel policies. Maybe you mean MID - check on askmid.com to see if it is insured.
- The MIB cannot cancel any policy. Only your insurance company can cancel policies.
- Has anyone got any further thoughts on this as I'm still really worried it's messed things up?
Thanks - Give up worrying.
There are no downsides for your policy.
Now 4 people reassuring you.
Time to move on!!
