A question about : can friends use hotel facilities if you are a guest?

If i'm meeting a friend in their home town how far can they use my room and facilities [with me their the whole time].

There is a swimming pool and steam room, im' only there for 2 nights so I won't have much time to use them if I have to meet my friend, I was thinking to combine both.

Can they come up to my hotel room? How long can they stay with me?

Bit embarrassing to have to call the hotel and ask tbh. title=Embarrassment

Best answers:

  • Have you checked the hotel website? It might say there.
  • If it is just you in the room and the price is the same for single and double occupancy why not just add your friend to your reservation . No-one will care if they actually sleep there or not.
Hotel facilities are for hotel guests - how strictly a particular hotel enforces that is entirely at their discretion but they'd certainly be entitled to refuse your friend if they weren't a registered guest. Your room cost pays for access to the facilities after all.
  • I just booked a double for my husband and added a person for free . He has a club room and a gym/ pool and often goes out with a work mate while in london - that way they can get free beer for 2 hrs on an evening in the club lounge .
  • No way would they let non-residents use a steam room or pool without charging. Apart from probable insurance issues, policing it would be impossible. Otherwise you could potentially invite a busload of friends to share the hotel.
