A question about : Can I have a Visa Debit with NatWest??

Hi, I'm looking to move my current account from my current bank, and would like to join NatWest as I have a couple of ISAs and a savings account with them. However, as I understand it, they only issue Maestro cards which are no good to me as I travel a lot and have experienced problems abroad in the past.

I've heard that they will issue a Visa Debit in certain circumstances - can anyone validate this? If so, what are the criteria?

A question about : Changes to Reward and Ultimate Reward Accounts

New terms and conditions will go live from 1 May 2013, to make a clearer distinction between main banking customers and non-main banking customers.

Summary is:

• Reward Current Account customers need to have a minimum of two direct debits set up on their account by 14 April 2013. Any account, regardless of the amount the account is funded with, that doesn't have two direct debits will be converted to a Current Account on 2 May 2013

A question about : Nationwide FlexDirect

It looks as though Nationwide have increased the rate on their FlexDirect account.

It's now showing as 5% interest (fixed) for 12 months (on balances up to Ј2500) and a 12-month free overdraft.

It should be noted that there are some restrictions on what you can do in branch - basically anything that can be done using self-service (ATM/internet/phone) needs to be done that way.

A question about : Top Bank Accounts Discussion Area

Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, but does anybody have any experience of opening and operating the Abbey 8% C/A.

I also mean how is their switching service, etc, for there were many people with teething problems with the HBOS offers...

Does it run smoothly, for the idea of just paying the money in and having the interest automatically swept out every month to their 7%, sounds very convenient..

Any takers for this one?

A question about : Halifax reward account online now, and the old accounts....

Halifax had updated their page, they phrased out current account and high interest account.

I've also just checked my online banking, it's still high interest, but they disabled the ability to apply overdraft online due to the special product I am using.

Update: it seems the online overdraft facility had just come back

A question about : Tsb plus account 5%

The financial pages of the newspapers have been reporting that TSB have launched the above account but I have been unable to find it on their site. Has anyone been able to find on TSB website this current account with TSB which pays 5% on balances up to Ј2,000 as long as you pay in Ј500
