A question about : Biking routes northwest?

hi guys, me and my partner have a week of early march and was wondering if anyone knows any good biking routes in north west area or close to north west, both have a bike and a car, we have been on the Lake District- keswick route which we enjoyed, or amybe a good website for good routes? maybe after medium routes, thanks

Best answers:

  • Most Council's now have a cycling route map which is available free. Don't forget your waterways permit if you go on the canal paths
  • Preston guild wheel- not sure if it would be long enough for you though.
    Gisburn Forrest?
    Or https://www.visitlancashire.com/cycling-lancashire
  • Lots of options in Derbyshire. Bakewell is a good base. There are many routes which will take in part of the traffic-free cycling/walking trails (Monall, Tissington and High Peak) which you can create to be as challenging as you want.
Likewise there seem to many groups of cyclers who stay in Carsington village.
Wherever you choose - have a great time
  • Try cycle-routes.com it has a route finder. Site wont let me post direct link
  • The Middlewood Way is lovely but maybe not long enough.
Delamere Forest is always great fun.
  • try Coast to coast cycle route Workington to East coast
  • Trans Pennine Trail - pretty flat as its mostly old railway lines. The good news is many stations nearby still exist so you can cycle and train sections of the route if you're not up for the whole journey.
