A question about : Beneficial Interest Post BR

Hi all,

We went BR back in 2009 and at the time we had little equity in our house so a family member bought the beneficial interest for Ј1.

Anyway, it all went swimmingly and we went through until now not worrying about it at all.

Currently our house is on the market as we're looking to upsize but I'm unsure if I need to do anything about the BI?

Do the titles need transferring back to us, or anything else?

A question about : NT tax code

Hi,
I was made BR back in June. Tax has been taken as normal in the form of PAYE since then. This week I have received a letter from the HMRC saying that they have now changed my tax code to NT until April when they have given me what my tax code will be. I know that I will now not have tax deducted from my salary but that this money will be reclaimed from me. However, I have a couple of queries regarding this:

1. Do I need to inform the OR that the NT code has been applied or do I just wait until I am contacted to pay it back?

A question about : Bankruptcy from abroad

Hi,

I have Ј22k of unsecured debt in the UK. I have been living in France for exactly 3.5 months. I have no job and my funds to cover the minimum payments will run out soon. I am frantically looking for a job but if nothing changes I will start defaulting in about 3 months. I am starting to consider bankruptcy as an option.

I am 100% supported by my spouse. I have no assets except a car.

I am a bit confused by this statement on the gov.uk website

Im trying to talk my OH around to going bankrupt, he sticks head in sand and Im left to sort out mess as per usual
very long story how this all came about so I wont bore you with that. but ive printed the forms off to fill in for bankruptcy and there are a couple of quick things I need to know how to put it / or what to put don't know if any one can help?

A question about : Reclaiming Bank charges and Bankruptcy

My brother has a is going to hopefully be made bankrupt ( CCCS advised him that due to the size of his debt and the lack of money coming in )

But during his working life he has been hit many times with bank charges and when he gets made bankrupt if he is able to reclaim any bank charges what will happen to the money or what will he be expected to do with the money if he can reclaim any.

I'll make this quick, at the moment I've sent proposals to my 5 creditors for token payments while I get back on my feet, my worry is one in particular, will not accept, Barclays, who I owe Ј20k on a sole trader business overdraft.
