Reasons for your BR

A question about : Reasons for your BR

We always refer posters to Beth's guide for the pointers and is still relevant 5 years on.

Is there any pointers you can give too? What helped you? What advice would you give to those filling in that section on your 6.28 SOA form?

My advice would be, put down which Debt charity, IP, Accountant or Solicitor advised you BR was one of your options, as the Judge will always ask this.

BR Friendly Bank Accounts ~ [Updated Sep 2012 re: Co-op Cashminder withdrawal]

A question about : BR Friendly Bank Accounts ~ [Updated Sep 2012 re: Co-op Cashminder withdrawal]

With immediate effect (from September 17, 2012) the Co-operative bank is no longer accepting new customers who are un-discharged bankrupts, this decision does not affect the bank's existing customers.

Since the recent press release the Co-op has assured other posters that if you open a Cashminder account with them, then go BR they will keep your account open.

Mortgages after bankruptcy

A question about : Mortgages after bankruptcy

Is there an easy way to find out how long after bankruptcy individual lenders will issue a mortgage?

From speaking with financial advisors I know that I am able to get a mortgage but each one I've spoken to has said that each lender has it's own criteria which is usually 1, 3 or 6 years after discharge. If there's an easy way to see which are worth looking at then that would be good. I obviously don't want any rejections on my credit record, which I've taken so long to clean up.

Many thanks.
