A question about : Adding clubcard points from receipts

My keyring club card has fallen off. I have kept the receipts through december. I went to customer service desk today to have them added to my account, as I took my clubcard in. The assistant told me she could only take 2, as she was unsure they were all mine. I pointed out to her that she could check the card number on the payment bit, as they were all the same, and I had that debit card with me. Miss Jobsworth still refused, and said 'it was a new policy, as people were fishing out receipts from the bin and claiming them' I insisted she check the details to confirm it was the same card used to pay for the goods, she was not the last bit interested.
I was so cross!
Has anyone else had this happen?

  • Sorry fine foot I can't say it's happened to me, but over on the DFW forums there is a thread called wombling where people collect the receipts and claim points on others shop.
To get round the too many receipts issue, the thread recommends go to different stores or go different days, obviously shouldn't have been a problem for you as genuine purchases. I think I'd write to Tesco customers services with copies of receipts.
  • Sazzie23 is quite right, as a consequence of the 'wombling' Tesco restrict the no. that can be added at a time. Store can do it for up to 14 days, but as mentioned you could send them all to Clubcard Head Office in Dundee, who can do them up to 28 days.

  • Blame the people that abuse the points system, not the store staff.
