A question about : 13 Projects in 2013 (cross stitch, knitting, paper crafts etc.)
Hi everyone, this was an idea we had on the cross stitch thread last year, but after discussing it we decided that it would be a good idea to include other crafts as many of us in that thread did other crafts too.
The idea basically is to complete 13 projects in 2013. These projects can be cross stitch, cards, jewellery, knitting, anything that you make really!
You can also 'carry over' projects from the previous year, so any WIP's can count!
For smaller projects such as cards, you can decide whether each card is 1 project, or a certain number of them are. For example I will probably count all Christmas cards as 1 project and all the other cards as 1 project. But like I say, it's up to you!
Oh and don't worry if you don't complete your 13 projects by the end of the year, you can always carry then over in to 2014

How to share your pics from FLIKR:
1) Go to the picture you want to show us click the 'Share This' button on the top left of the picture, this will show you a number of options and the one you need is called 'Grab the HTML/BBCode', Tick the button for BBCode and it'll convert the code to what you need.
2) Copy the text in the box and paste it into a new post on MSE and it should have everything you need to insert the image into your post. You can check this by clicking Preview Message.

What an excellent idea. This should keep me motivated to get the xmas/birthday present made. I will be sewing, crocheting and glue gunning (when i can find stuff to glue gun )

Pretty much every craft will be a new craft for me, after getting lots of new craft books at christmas I'm raring to go!
I'm nearing completion of a small cross stitch, this will be project numbero uno
Lots of idea's as well, want to make an ipad cover, an apron for me, a dress for my niece's 1st birthday (don't know if that's pushing it or not!). Also will be learning to knit and crochet this year

Haven't thought what all 13 projects will be yet but here are a few i've already got planned. hoping to use some of my stash as gifts so bieng MSE they will hopefully save me money and only cost time and frames or cushion pads and people will get hm gifts they appreciate.

It's up to you when you post pics, maybe for small projects just posta pic when it's done, and for larger projects post whenever you feel an update pic is needed
- Great idea- I had decided to do something like this and have planned to do jewelry making this month and candles holders next month. I already make cards and I like the idea of counting Birthday cards as a project and Christmas cards as a project. That is more than enough to start on- I have a ton of sewing projects in the pipeline too.
- Would it be better to give us all a number? That way it's easier for you to update our totals.
That's basing this on loads of people joining in and us all losing track - No no, whatever is easier for you, I don't mind

13. Maybe even start but definitely not finish Blackwork of the British Isles (it is 1m x 1.5m). Have started doing the Learning Sampler instead of this - its an 18 month part stitch - started in September 2013 - complete 4 parts out of 18.
Think that is a bit more than 13, will that matter - some are small like the Snowdrop stitches.

I have also agreed to stitch some designs for the Sandy Hook Quilt, I would have liked to do a lot but fear I just won't have time so gonna set a minimum of 2 - 1 boy + 1 girl.
so technically that's 14 projects (is that allowed?)
Others to follow once I have thought what I want to do and update my list. I was given a vintage homemade book for Christmas, which has some great ideas in that I want to try.
